Micro-Communities Housing Project

NJCD’s future plans include the development of several micro-communities made up of tiny homes. These homes will provide safe, transitional housing for neighbors experiencing housing instability and will be available at no cost to residents.

Individuals living in the community will commit to a shared code of conduct. In place of monthly rent, residents will contribute through meaningful service that supports NJCD’s mission of having no poor among them.

Over time, residents will have the opportunity to

participate in building their own homes and to pass on the skills they gain as additional homes are constructed—fostering dignity, empowerment, and long-term sustainability.
